Lao Tsu said to the plum tree, "Speak to me of God." The plum blossomed.
When I spent my first winter in Maine, I told the natives that for those of us who grew up in Texas, winter just meant, "Too cold to swim." My condolences to those of a more northern persuasion. Your time will come in July.

I have been looking, once again, at how little I have been blogging. Much of that is a function of work, since it absorbs much of my time and focus and since I have elected not to address work in the blog. Much of home life has been pretty mundane, though that should change as we get into gardening season. So my work life is not a complete blank, here is a photo of me in my work environment.

Yesterday morning I got to my desk and reached for my belt to put my Palm in it's cradle, only to find my belt clip empty. I was certain I had put it on my belt before leaving home so I rushed back out to the car to see if it had fallen off in the car. To my chagrin it had not. That left two options: I had been wrong about putting it on my belt or had set it down at home or it had come off while I was putting gas in the car on the way to work. I called Jean at home and asked her to check the house and to call the convenience store to see if it had been found there. I called Jean at my break to find that it was not at home and had not been turned it at the store.
I went out and checked the car again, did a brief round of high intensity prayer and manifestation that it would be found and returned to me and went back to work. About a half hour later my cellphone dingled the arrival of an instant message. It was an ICQ message from Kirk that a woman called to report finding my palm, giving me her name and address and saying she would be expecting me.
At lunch, I ran over to the lady's house. Her father had found it at the service station, knocked over against the service island. He gave it to her and her teenage daughter had gotten my phone number from the id page. She was very gracious and refused to accept a reward.
The Palm TungstenT had obviously been run over in the parking lot. The screen was cracked and I could no longer make screen entry, but all of the keys worked and it seemed otherwise unaffected . . . and all of my data was home safe.
I am reviewing my options: out of warranty repair or replacement. I am disappointed and yet impressed at the unit's sturdiness. I don't know how much of it's protection was from the design and construction and how much was from the EB leather case, but I was pleased with how well it came through being run over at least once.
My daily blogread apprised me of Google Maps which is Google's new map tool. It has dragable, easily zoomable maps with incredibly easy searching.
